Schools Should Run Phone Programs.
Not Phone Surveillance.

We started with a simple belief: the best phone-free school programs are built on clear policy, genuine parent partnership, and positive incentives — not on monitoring personal devices or treating families as problems to be managed.

Why Zonifyr Exists

Schools increasingly recognize the need to reduce phone distraction, but implementation remains difficult. Approaches that rely heavily on confiscation, surveillance, or inconsistent enforcement can create operational and family-trust challenges.

Teachers need clear, workable rules. Families need to understand who controls what. Students need expectations that are consistent and transparent. Zonifyr is designed around those practical realities.

We believe there's a better way. Zonifyr is the operating platform for schools that want to run a real phone-policy program — one built on clear rules, genuine family partnership, trust-based accountability, and community recognition of positive choices.

The Architecture We Built

Zonifyr is organized around a simple principle: each party controls what they legitimately have authority over.

  • Schools design policies, enroll families, collect acknowledgements, record observations, manage compliance escalations, and measure outcomes — through Zonifyr Schools.
  • Parents and guardians independently choose schedules, apps, and restrictions on personally owned student devices — through Zonifyr Family. Schools receive no device data, no restriction status, and no app-usage telemetry.
  • Institutions manage school-owned or legitimately institutionally managed devices through Zonifyr Managed, built within Apple's approved MDM framework. Android Enterprise support is in development.
  • Communities participate through SchoolSafeZone, which supports responsibility, leadership, improvement, service, participation, and other positive milestones through privacy-preserving recognition and local-business rewards.

What We Will Never Do

These are not policies. They are architectural facts about how Zonifyr is built:

  • Schools will never see whether a personal phone is currently restricted via Zonifyr Family.
  • Schools will never receive Screen Time, Family Controls, or app-usage data from personal devices.
  • Zonifyr will never sell student data or use it for advertising.
  • Zonifyr Managed will never be applied to personally owned phones.
  • Business partners in SchoolSafeZone will never receive student discipline records or sensitive education information.

Trust First

At the center of everything we build is what we call trust-first compliance. Families may choose a parent-managed digital option where the school allows it. Schools judge success through normal school-observed behavior — not phone surveillance. If a student repeatedly violates the school policy, the school has a clear escalation path to physical methods like a pouch. Students can earn back digital eligibility under school-defined rules.

This model treats students as capable of making good choices, treats parents as genuine partners, and gives schools the tools to run fair and consistent programs without becoming surveillance organizations.

Clarity. No Distractions.

That's still our brand line. But its meaning has deepened. Clarity isn't just about phone-free classrooms. It's about clarity in the relationship between schools and families. Clarity about who controls what. Clarity about what data flows where. Clarity about what Zonifyr does and doesn't do.

We think that kind of clarity is rare in edtech — and we intend to be the exception.
