Zonifyr Inc. ("Zonifyr," "we," "our") provides a platform that enables schools and districts to define and enforce device usage policies within school environments.

1. Role and Data Ownership

Zonifyr acts solely as a data processor on behalf of educational institutions.

• Schools retain full ownership of all student data
• Zonifyr processes data only under the direction of the school
• Zonifyr does not sell, rent, or use student data for advertising

2. FERPA Compliance

Zonifyr operates as a "school official" under applicable student privacy laws.

• Data is used only for authorized educational purposes
• Access is restricted to authorized users
• Schools control all data access and usage decisions

3. COPPA Compliance (Children Under 13)

• Schools may provide consent on behalf of parents for educational use
• Where required, Zonifyr obtains verifiable parental consent
• Parents may access their child's data, request deletion, or withdraw consent

4. Information We Collect

A. Student Data (Minimal Collection)

• School-issued student ID
• School/class association
• Device identifier (tokenized)
• Geofence status (inside/outside school zone)
• Policy compliance status

Zonifyr does NOT collect:

• Continuous location tracking history
• Personal messages or content
• Browsing content

B. Parent Data

• Name
• Email
• Relationship to student

C. School/Admin Data

• Staff account information
• Policy configurations
• Geofence settings

5. How Data Is Used

Data is used only to:

• Enforce school-defined policies
• Provide dashboards to schools and parents
• Maintain system functionality and security

Zonifyr does NOT:

• Sell data
• Advertise using data
• Profile students for commercial purposes

6. Location Data

Zonifyr uses location data strictly for geofencing:

• Determines whether a device is inside or outside a school zone
• Does not store continuous GPS history
• Does not track students outside school-related use

7. Data Retention

• Operational logs retained for a limited period (30–90 days)
• Data deleted upon school request or account termination
• Parents may request deletion at any time

8. Data Security

Zonifyr implements:

• Encryption in transit and at rest
• Role-based access controls
• Audit logging
• Restricted internal access

9. Data Sharing

Data is shared only:

• With the school/district
• With authorized service providers (subprocessors)

Zonifyr never sells or rents data.

10. Rights of Parents and Students

Parents and eligible students may:

• Access data
• Request correction
• Request deletion

Requests may be submitted through the school or directly to Zonifyr.

11. Changes to Policy

Zonifyr may update this policy. Schools will be notified of material changes.
